During the pandemic, suppliers struggled with extraordinary demand from the medical-device industry and elsewhere.

Around the clock, Vyaire and McKinsey teams worked directly with suppliers to clear bottlenecks and avoid delays.
4. Optimization
In one case, teams traveled to a supplier, mapped their entire process flow, and installed IoT sensors to measure and improve efficiency…all in a single day.
5. Scaling up
The supply-chain efforts paid off. Typical production rates were 5 to 7 units a day. At its peak, Vyaire’s most productive line hit 600 units a day.

Ultimately, Vyaire was able to ramp production from approximately 500 in 12 weeks to 19,000 in the same period of time (~38X as much).
